What does a Dialysis Assistant Do?

A "Dialysis Assistant" is usually known as a Dialysis Technician. The main job duties include:

  • Taking Patient Vitals
  • Monitoring Patients
  • Administering Local Anesthisia and Medicine
  • Care of Dialysis Machinary
  • Administering Emergency Services As Needed

Dialysis Technicains are steadily replacing Registered Nurses in the medical field. This has not decreased the demand for RN's at all, just replaced a componant of their duties. Education in order to gain entry into this field may require job prospects to complete a medical certification program. Some employers are willing to train an employee with a highschool diploma who has some prior experience in the medical field. Salary ranges from $9.00 - $11.00 per hour.
